For six years I battled with bulimia, which makes things even more. And as anyone who has had an eating disorder knows, they do not disappear or vanish completely out of the picture - ever. And yet, as an intern now and as a pastor-wanna-be, I have to be at the social functions and visit people at home and not allow overeating and the aftermath of it steal my joy of fellowship. There are few things that I love more than good food in a good company with a glass of good wine with a good music in the background and a good conversation to top it off. I have no easy answers for you. One thing i know though - God has not called us to travel this journey alone. I have found that asking a close friend of mine to be with me on these occasions and even to tuck my sleeve when I reach for a second helping is very helpful. Do you think that starting an accountability group at the church would be one of the ways we could help each other out at least in the church social functions?&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;Grazina</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/33858104/116813913268826240/comments/default/117017542243820694'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/33858104/116813913268826240/comments/default/117017542243820694'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://calvarious.blogspot.com/2007/01/faithful-feasting.html?showComment=1170175380000#c117017542243820694' title=''/><author><name>Anonymous</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://calvarious.blogspot.com/2007/01/faithful-feasting.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33858104.post-116813913268826240' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/33858104/posts/default/116813913268826240' type='text/html'/></entry></feed>
